John Legend isn’t here for anyone defending Donald Trump and denying the President-elect’s racism.

On Friday’s episode of Real Time, David Axelrod, former advisor to President Barack Obama, told host Bill Maher that the millionaire businessman wasn’t really racist. Legend, who was also a guest on the show, stressed that inciting racially-motivated violence is actually racist, Mediaite noted.

It’s not just impolite,” Legend said. “It’s threatening people’s lives. If you think Mexicans come into this country to rape and murder your family, that means their life is threatened.”

I agree with all that, I want to make a different point, ” Axelrod replied. “The thing that I find offensive is, I don’t think Donald Trump is a racist.”

I don”t care if he is,” the singer snapped.

Maher interrupted and said to Axelrod: “With the history he had? With his father not renting to black people? With the Central Park jogger? Oh, come on!

I think he is an opportunist who exploited race and surfed racism,” Axelrod said, but Legend interrupted him.

That is a difference without a distinction,” Legend said.

It is not different! Because he knew better and he knew what he was doing,” Axelrod replied.

Legend shot back: “I don’t care if he knows better. I care about what he’s saying and what it’s going to cause in the public.

A Los Angeles area substitute teacher has been fired after a student recorded him telling Latino sixth graders that their parents were going to be deported. The conversation happened the day after Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.

According to NBC4, a young student recorded the unidentified teacher at Bret Harte Middle School taunting their class. The video was later turned into school authorities by Jennifer Reynaga, who also shared the audio with NBC4 and their sister station Telemundo 52.

On the recording, an individual can be heard telling Reynaga’s 11-year-old daughter, “If you were born here, then your parents got to go. Then they will leave you behind, and you will be in foster care.

When the daughter asked him how would officials know where they lived, he replied: “I have your phone numbers, your address, your mama’s address, your daddy’s address. It’s all in the system, sweetie.

Sigh.

Reynaga told NBC4 that she knew that the election would usher in bullying from other students, but not from adults.

I would think the kids would do it, but I never thought a teacher would do it,” she said.

While school officials declined to tell the press about their investigation, Reynaga said that school officials told her and her husband that the substitute teacher has been fired.

Earlier this week we reported that a KKK group in North Carolina announced that on Dec 3. they would host a victory rally for Donald Trump. Now, GOP leaders have spoken out denouncing the white supremacist event.

According to CNN, NC GOP Chairman Robin Hayes said in a statement:  “We are disgusted and condemn this extremist ideology and associated actions in the strongest possible terms. These acts and thought processes are no reflection of the heartbeat of this great country and are counter to the efforts to make America great again. We stand with the Democratic Party in calling these out-of-state troublemakers to go home.”

Trump’s campaign also condemned the parade, saying, “Mr. Trump and his team continue to disavow these groups and individuals and strongly condemn their message of hate.”

The Klan has been a staunch supporter of Trump endorsing him in one of their newspapers last month.
