This is a damn shame.
In solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter and #StopTheViolence, Chicago rapper King Yella was shot during his video shoot yesterday. King Yella announced the event yesterday on his Instagram and encouraged people in the community to come and show support.
Instead of a fun-filled day of positivity, King Yella’s video ended with him getting shot not once, but twice. Before the incident occurred, Yella shared behind the scenes footage of the day, which seemed to be going as planned.
Minutes later, it appears a car pulled up and bullets began to fly everywhere. As shots rang out, Yella’s videographer made the decision to keep the camera rolling. While the video is rolling it’s unclear that Yella was hit, but unfortunately he was shot in the abdomen and his elbow.
Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening, and he assured his fans on Instagram that he’s OK.
