On Monday’s episode of CBS’s The Talk, co-host and comedienne Aisha Tyler opened up about her painful divorce with soon-to-be ex-husband Jeff Tietjens. Fighting tears, Tyler talked about the dissolution of her 20-year marriage, the strife the media has caused and how she still doesn’t look at her ending relationship as a failure.

The 45-year old said:

“My husband and I are separating… that’s a very painful thing to go through and it’s also a really painful thing to go through in public… I’m sure you can imagine it’s pretty frustrating to have people talking about your private life who don’t know anything about it and speculating and you know saying lots of crazy stuff but I wanted to say this… my husband and I met when I was a teenager and I’ve been with him for more than half of my adult life… it’s very hard when you love someone very much to also start to realize that maybe you want different things for your lives… I don’t, not in any way see this relationship as a failure… We loved each other passionately and we lived life fully and we’re trying to let each other go in the kindest way we possibly can… that’s what I’m going to say about the relationship and the rest of it is none of your damn business!”

UnPatriotric? Donald Trump Says 9/11 Happened on 7/11!

With the New York Primary underway today, Donald Trump was doing some last-minute campaigning in Buffallo where he made a major faux paus on Monday night. According to CNN, during a speech, he mixed up the dates of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks in 2001, referring to the happening on 7/11 instead.

“I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart. Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down. And I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action,” he said.

Sadly, the reality star and businessman did not correct himself.

Trump’s spokesperson told CNN on Tuesday,  “After you’ve done several events over a short time period, people misspeak all of the time — slip of the tongue.”

Or he had some Beyonce on the brain, either way, Twitter had a lot to say about this mistake.

#BlackGirlMagic: Jamaican Gymnast Makes Olympic Team

Cal State gymnast Toni-Ann Williams recently became the first Jamaican to qualify for the country’s Summer Olympic Team, the San Francisco Gate reported. Williams, a sophomore, will also be the first female Cal gymnast to make it to the Olympics.

“What an amazing accomplishment,” Cal and Jamaica head coach Justin Howell said. “It’s a little surreal at the moment, but we believed without a doubt that she would qualify.”

“The rigor of Cal prepares our student-athletes for excellence. This is proof that gymnastics at the college level and gymnastics at the international level can go hand in hand,” he added.

Congrats!
