Reigning World Champion Simone Biles is not playing as she steamrolls down the #RoadToRio. On Saturday, Biles, 19, completely wowed everyone at the Pacific Rim Championships winning the All-Around title, coming in first on the vault and beam and third on the uneven bars.

Biles took five months off from the circuit to rest after winning the Worlds in Glasgow, a move that she believes made a huge difference. “It was good time to have off, especially to focus on the second vault and to focus on getting a new floor routine,” she told USA Today. “Nothing was rushed. It was good to have that.”

The time off might have also helped her create and perfect some new routines. According to USA Today, Biles also debuted a new floor and vault routine. Just peep this balance beam routine:

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is known for his bullying tactics and threatening rhetoric, is sadly having a negative impact on children of color, a new study found.

Researchers from The Southern Poverty Law Center interviewed more than 2,000 teachers and administrators and found that “children of color are now dealing with increased fear, bullying and anxiety,” Colorlines noted. Now, SPLC is clear that their report isn’t scientific, but that it does provide a snapshot of what’s happening in schools around our nation.

Some key findings include:

  • More than two-thirds of the teachers reported that students—mainly immigrants, children of immigrants and Muslims—have expressed concerns or fears about what might happen to them or their families after the election.
  • More than half have seen an increase in uncivil political discourse.
  • More than third have observed an increase in anti-Muslim or anti-immigrant sentiment.

One teacher interviewed said, “My students often refer to Trump with fear,” said one respondent. “They are afraid of what will happen to them (many immigrants) if he becomes president.”

Sprint Pulls Controversial Ad Where White Woman Calls T-Mobile Users ‘Ghetto’

The good folks over at Sprint really tried it with their latest television ad that subsequently got yanked the day after it aired.

Why did it get pulled so quickly? Because the commercial featured a white woman referring to its rival T-Mobile as “ghetto,” The Washington Post reported.  In this new ad, customers sat in a room and were asked by Sprint chief executive Marcelo Claure to give one-word descriptions of what came into their heads when asked about other phone service companies.

When asked about T-Mobile, at the woman said, “Oh, my God, the first word that came to my mind was,” before pausing, “ghetto!”She continued, “That sounds, like, terrible. I don’t know. … People who have T-Mobile are just, like…”

Claure later tweeted the video at T-Mobile with the caption, “Sometimes the truth hurts” and then sent another Tweet saying, “Not meant to offend anyone.”

Sigh.

Clearly, Twitter wasn’t here for the ad and accusing Sprint of being “racist,” “insensitive,” and “disrespectful.”
