There’s been turmoil with the release of Lamar Odom into Khloe Kardashian’s care after his near-death overdose last October.

The reality star has been taking care of the former Los Angeles Laker star, which includes paying for his medical bills and home costs— according to sources. But her biggest battle has been convincing her estranged husband to stop drinking.

“I hate this feeling…. Helpless,” she said on March 29. She followed up with inspirational tweets from Joel Osteen and prayers throughout the week.

Last fall Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel from a drug overdose. He was hospitalized for three months and his kidneys suffered serious damage. The athlete made his first public appearance in February at Kanye West’s New York Fashion Week show and has been spotted a few times since.

According to the New York Daily News, the “Kocktails with Khloe” premiere, originally scheduled for Dec. 9, was pushed to Jan. 20 after Odom was hospitalized from his near-fatal bender, though the FYI network didn’t specify a reason for the postponement. She also allegedly canceled appearances on a promotional tour for her book, “Strong Looks Better Naked,” to help Odom recover.

More recently, she cancelled a taping citing the flu, but many speculate it had to do with the stress of trying to convince Odom to go to rehab.

“People are focused on the wrong things these days!!!,” she noted on Twitter. “Stop commenting on ones weight and focus on the steps to recovery!”

While the 31-year-old is admirable for jumping to her ex’s rescue, there comes a time when individuals need to fight for their own well-being.

And if fighting for Lamar’s well-being is taking from her own, it may be time to bow out.
