Sports announcer Kevin Harlan sparked some controversy with his closing call of Syracuse’s 68-62 win over Virginia in the Elite Eight playoffs.
When the buzzer sounded you can clearly hear Harlan announce, “Jim Boeheim and Syracuse have done it. Back from the dead on Easter Sunday!”
Wait. What!? It’s a Resurrection Sunday no-no!
The Orange trailed No. 1 Virginia by 13 points in the second half and then full-court pressed to go on a 20-4 run in less than five minutes.
Easter celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection, so a little controversy was probably inevitable.
