Reports are out saying that 30-year old Calvin Johnson is due to retire before the next season.
It’s reported that when the season ended for the Detroit Lions the wide receiver told his family and his head coach Jim Caldwell that he had plans for retirement.

Calvin Johnson, who was second pick overall in the 2007 NFL draft, has made $113.8 million in his career and will go down as the most dominant player.

Johnson has four years remaining on his contract and $67.7 million is remaining out of the $113.5 million contract that was signed in 2012.
So, if Johnson does officially decide to retire he would owe the Lions money back for not completing his contract.
