The custody battle between Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie is beginning to heat up.
After traveling with his mother on her recent Rebel Heart Tour, 15-year-old Rocco went to the UK to spend time with his father and decided he didn’t want to leave. It’s been reported that Rocco is sick of Madonna’s “controlling” approach to parenting.
Now, a source tells PEOPLE that Rocco’s stay in England has caused him to miss valuable school time:
“He should have been home already,” says the source, who alleges that Rocco has missed some school. “Madonna is a devoted mother, and a big priority is her children’s education.”
As for why the teen left his mom’s tour, an industry insider says he “got tired of it and wanted to be home with his dad.”
Guy Ritchie has reportedly hired a lawyer. Rocco has been ordered back to the U.S. for a hearing in February.
