It kills me to know that there is a long list of things that African American’s haven’t accomplished yet, because of the fact that it’s not widely accepted by the society that we live in. For instance, who would’ve thought that in the past… there hasn’t been a woman of color to walk down the Victoria’s Secret runway in her natural hair? UNTIL RECENTLY. That’s an insane statistic to me. What’s even more insane is that this is even a controversial topic. The definition of beauty has become so twisted. Thank you, Maria Borges for showing our world that you don’t need weave or extensions to be one of the prettiest ladies on the planet!
