No so long ago (last week actually) in galaxy no so far away JJ Abrams helped restore my faith in humanity.

He did so by giving Daniel Fleetwood, a 31-year-old Texan who is suffering from a rare form of cancer called spindle cell carcinoma the gift of a lifetime…

Back in July Daniel was told that he would only have 2 months to live. To most people this news could defeat you emotionally, but not Daniel for the force is strong in this young man and despite the original prognosis he’s been fighting valiantly with a deep desire to make it to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it releases on December 18th, But with his health rapidly declining Daniel might not not make it to see the premiere.

With this in mind, Daniel and His wife Ashley took to social media to see if they could grab the attention of Disney And JJ Abrams so that Danny could watch the film before it’s December release date.

Soon after, the campaign knows as #ForceForDaniel took the web by storm and garnered the attention of millions including Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) himself

Eventually JJ Abrams & Disney felt the shift in the force and this past Thursday they granted Daniels dying wish by letting him watch an unfinished version of the movie.

His wife went to Facebook to rejoice and posted the following

“To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!! We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Danjel was getting his wish granted! We also would like to thank Lynne, Ben and Anahuac for coming to our home and screening the movie for Daniel. Lastly I want to thank ALL the amazing people who helped make this happen, thank you beyond words!!! May the force be with you all smile emoticon ‪#‎ForceForDaniel‬ !!!!” the Facebook post read.

This isn’t the first time JJ does something like this either! Back in 2013 he let a dying Star Trek fan watch an unfinished cut to “Star Trek: Into Darkness” a full 4 1/2 months early!

As a huge Star Wars fan it feels good to see someone with so much compassion at the helm of something I hold dearly to my heart!

For that I tip my hat to you JJ!
