Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan reminds voters of important election information, including photo ID requirements, exemptions, the cure process and help finding their poll on Election Day.

“I want every registered voter to understand the photo ID process and what to do if they need help on Election Day,” said Sullivan. “This is the third year registered voters will be required to present an acceptable photo ID to vote. If they don’t, they can vote provisionally and will then have the opportunity to cure their vote at any Tax Assessor-Collector branch office.”

The cure process only applies to registered voters who vote provisionally and did not present an acceptable form of photo ID.

“In addition, registered voters who do not have any form of photo ID and have a qualifying disability may apply for a permanent exemption at my office,” said Sullivan.  “To receive this exemption, the registered voter must provide documentation from the U.S. Social Security Administration or the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, verifying the disability. More information can be found at www.hctax.net.”

“Voters can find their Election Day poll location by visiting www.harrisvotes.com or by calling 713-274-VOTE (8683), 7:00 AM to the close of their poll.  My office will be have more than 150-agents in our call center to help voters find their poll” Sullivan said.

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan also serves as the Harris County Voter Registrar, who conducts voter registration activities and maintains a certified list of registered voters. Learn more about voter registration and the requirements by visiting www.hctax.net.
