During the Jets’ Sunday game, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick left the game during the Jets’ first drive with a thumb injury.
Fitzpatrick left the game with later was diagnosed as torn ligaments in his left thumb which put Geno Smith into action. This was his first time back since his locker room fight with his teammate IK Enemkpali.

In August, the Head Coach Todd Bowles told the NY Post when Enemkpali broke Smith’s jaw that Smith needed surgery when, “cold-cocked, sucker-punched, whatever you want to call it.”
The punch was over $600 debt that kept Smith out for the first six games … until yesterday’s game.
Geno Smith was put into the game when Fitzpatrick went out with his thumb injury, but unfortunately, Smith left in the fourth quarter with a left shoulder injury. Fitzpatrick returned since their third-string quarterback Bryce Petty was listed as inactive for Sunday’s game.
The rumor mill started that the Jets were making quarterback searches being a free agent or by trade.
That question would be, could it be Ryan Mallett? Rumors said yes it was possible, but the Jets were quick to debunk that rumor saying that they were not interested in Mallett.
