Mid-August, television personality Rosie O’Donnell had the scare of her life when her adopted daughter went missing for a week.

Chelsea O’Donnell was eventually found at the home of Steven Sheer, an alleged heroin addict, who has since been arrested in connection with her disappearance. The 18-year-old was safely returned to her mom, but in a sudden turn of events, Chelsea then decided to live elsewhere.

Rosie’s publicist has revealed that Chelsea, who reportedly suffers from mental illness, has gone to live with her birth mom in Wisconsin.

“Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother. This was her choice,” Rosie‘s publicist said in a statement to JustJared.com.

We’re hoping Rosie is holding up OK.
