According to ESPN, Erik Kramer suffered from a gunshot wound that his ex-wife Marshawn, called an attempted suicide.

Kramer was found wounded in a motel room Tuesday night in Calabasas, California.

Although the wound is not life threatening, his wife cited that Kramer has been in a depression for years. She says that Kramer has suffered from depression since his time playing for the Chicago Bears. “I can promise you he is not the same man I married,” Marshawn says.

Marshawn also cited that his depression stemmed from brain injuries due to football.

Kramer spent most of his time in the NFL playing for the Chicago Bears, in addition to a few seasons with the Lions, Falcons, and Chargers.
