Vivian Green Amir Diamond

I was dressed so scrubby yesterday, but my boss thought it’d be a good idea for me to meet one of my previous #WomanCrushWednesday picks: Vivian Green. If you don’t recognize that name, just click on the Throwback Thursday Video below.

I love looking a mess, but I hate when I have to meet people while I’m looking a mess. LOL Don’t ask me how that works out. I ended up taking my boss’ advice and putting my thoughts (of my appearance) aside to shake hands with Ms. Emotional Rollercoaster.

I’m always surprised when celebs are cool, calm, collected and down to earth… and that was everything that Ms. Green embodied. She even recalled meeting me at a show back in 2007, but it wasn’t a concert! I interned for a touring production called “Love In The Nick of Tyme.” Vivian wrote the songs for the musical numbers, Morris Chestnut was one of the lead characters and I had the most glamorous position: the intern (aka the coffee boy). LOL

I started off my internship by being selling the most programs between me and my constituents. After topping my own sales for three nights straight, the director David E. Talbert offered to put me on the payroll and take me with the cast & crew to New York City (all expenses paid)! You could almost bet what my answer was; HELL YES!

Viv would chat with me and the two other interns backstage about our aspirations in life and congratulated us on the success from the hard work we were doing. I would never imagine that she would remember those conversations from almost 10 years ago. It’s dope to know that a very popular recording artist thought as much about a convo as her fan did. That’s the sign of a true superstar. Thanks, VG!
