Legendary sci-fi icon William Shatner has been confirmed for Space City Comic Con at the NRG Center from July 24-26. Star Trek’s original “Capt. James T. Kirk” will be among the slew of celebrities from the worlds of science fiction, fantasy, and pop culture, from film, television, comics, games, literature, and art. Exhibitors will fill NRG Center with collectibles, comics, original art, props, toys, models, games, and more, while stars of Cosplay and inventive patrons costume as favorite characters from every genre.
Shatner will be joined by local hero and fandom favorite, Jason David Frank and Chad Michael Murray who is starring in the eagerly awaited History-channel series “Texas Rising” will also make a rare appearance. Murray is also joined by “One Tree Hill” co-stars Antwon Tanner and Michael Copon. Frank and Copon have drawn together a reunion of Power Rangers TimeForce, including Jason Faunt, Erin Cahill, and Dan Southworth.
Space City Comic Con will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Star Trek: Voyager” TV with appearances and fan interaction with stars from the series including fellow Star Trek captain, Kate Mulgrew (Capt. Kathryn Janeway – currently starring in the Netflix original hit “Orange is the New Black“), Robert Beltran (Cmdr. Chakotay), Robert Picardo (The Doctor – also of the “Stargate” series and “China Beach”), Tim Russ (Lt. Tuvok), Manu Intiraymi (Icheb), Ethan Phillips (Neelix). Rick Sternbach, designer of Star Trek ships and tech is joining the celebration.
Also confirmed is actress Lori Petty (“League of Their Own,” “Orange is the New Black,”), star of the cult classic “Tank Girl,” who had a guest appearance on “Voyager.” Miltos Yerolemou, “Syrio Forel” from the smash HBO series “Game of Thrones”, who is also in this year’s new Star Wars film. Syfy’s new series, “The Expanse” will be represented by actors Cas Anvar and Elias Toufexis. Gil Gerard and Felix Silla of “Buck Rogers” fame will also be attending.
Space City Comic Con is a pop and fan culture family entertainment expo for all ages, of comics, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, literature, and art, for the Houston, Texas and the Gulf Coast. It will offer the best convention experience possible for current generations of fans, and instill a love of comics, cosplay, sci-fi and fantasy in the next generations. Space City Comic Con is about “bringing fans together.”
