Cast members of HBO’s The Wire, which has a storyline based in the streets of Baltimore, took to social media to ask that those in the area hold peaceful protests instead of destroying their city. “To my Beloved city Baltimore..I feel your pain,” tweeted actor Andre Royo. “Stand up..rise UP without breaking down! Discipline not Destruction. #VictorynotVictims.” Actor Wendell Pierce shared his dismay with what the rioters were doing. “Baltimore. These are not protestors. These are criminals disrespectful of the wishes of the family and people of good will,” he tweeted. Read more.


8 Million People Affected by Nepal Earthquake

The number of people who were affected by the Nepal earthquake is on the rise. According to the United Nations, eight million people were affected; which makes up a quarter of the country’s population. Nearly 8,000 people were injured and the death toll is at 4,310. About 1.4 million people are in need of food. The areas surrounding Nepal are still getting aftershocks from the natural disaster. “According to initial estimations and based on the latest earthquake intensity mapping, eight million people in 39 districts have been affected, of which over two million people live in the 11 severely affected districts,” read a UN report. 4 Wounded, 2 Dead in Brooklyn Shooting

According to reports, six people were shot near a church where a funeral was taking place in Brooklyn. The shooting happened following an argument outside of the Emmanuel Church of God in Flatbush. Two men, 40-year-old Sharieff Clayton and 44-year-old Ronald Murphy, lost their lives. The other victims, two men and two women, are in stable condition. Police believe that the gunfire came from both inside and outside the place of worship. Read more.
