Briana Donis

Most people don’t even know what “aplastic anemia” is.  Aplastic Anemia is a rare blood condition that affects 1 to 5 people (out of 1 million) each year. This is a condition that does not allow the body’s bone marrow to produce enough new blood cells. The only treatment to fight this rare condition is chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, if the doctor can find a match.

Briana Donis

Meet Briana Donis. I literally have watched her grow up. When I first started boxing, her father David Donis was my coach. She was a normal pre teen kid. Times have changed. Can you imagine being a regular kid, then your life dramatically changes??? Can you imagine every infection being life threatening, due to no white blood cells??? Could you imagine having 4 surgeries in one week???

Briana had her bone marrow transplant on December 18th. She was doing quite well up until the 50th day post transplant, when her levels began dropping and showing signs of a failed transplant. It’s now a sad reality for Briana, but there’s a bright side. YOU can help out. WE can help her fight. Every little bit helps out. Click here to “Knock Out Aplastic Anemia”.

This Saturday, the family has set up a boxing exhibition event to help cover medical expenses. Join us at Lonestar Hitters Boxing Club. 17410 W. Little York. Houston, TX 77084 (It’s in the Katy area)
