The fallout continues with VH1’s controversial reality show, Sorority Sisters.  A week after the show aired their last episodes, one of the “Divine 9″ took swift punishment out on their members. Cast members Adrene Ashford, Lydia MitchellMeToya MonroePriyanka Banks and Shanna McCormick were all expelled from Delta Sigma Theta (DST) for their participation on the possibly cancelled (VH1 has yet to confirm it is but we know they outta there!) series. The ladies found out they were no longer able to rep that dynasty sign DST’s known for on the sorority’s Founders Day. Pretty ironic. The move comes after cast members, April A. McRae and Rwanda Hammond were suspended for a year from Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) on Dec. 26.

Now, Sorority Sisters’ breakout star Priyanka is speaking out about DST’s decision to vanquish her from the organization. In an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC), Priyanka discussed finding out about DST’s decision online and being “shocked” by their swift actions. According to Priyanka:

I found out through the Internet. It was shocking. I can’t say I am hurt, because the organization is made up of people and people are hateful. I can’t be surprised, but I was baffled.

What made Priyanka take part in the series? Priyanka alleged a casting director, who is also a fellow Greek found her via Facebook. Priyanka stated:

A casting director Facebooked me and she was Greek. People are trying to throw VH1 under the bus, but a Greek woman cast me. I went in for a green screen to test my personality and they cast me.

Hmm, this casting director just up and found her? Priyanka went further and explained:

Somebody may have referred me. But this is not my first professional piece of work. You know I burlesque dance. But I got it. It was just that simple. They had been casting for this show for years. Before we came out, we shot a pilot that they were pitching and VH1 picked it up.

The plot thickens! Don’t expect Priyanka to regret being on the show, quite far from it. The outspoken diva revealed she enjoyed her time on the series and will still rep DST, despite the love not being reciprocated.

Honestly, it was worth everything. Before this show came out, I had never seen so much hatred. This showed me something about people. At the end of the day, you can’t take away my experiences as a Delta. Or what I know as a Delta. This piece of paper means nothing to me. You make those letters. They don’t make you. I am going to keep my paraphernalia. Once a Delta, always a Delta. People are going to always know Priyanka is a Delta.
