Courtney Smith is a fashion designer that took her fashion to another level.
Smith who is a voluptuous beautiful woman noticed that the clothing models did not include models that looked like her.

 

Smith started a New York based company called Rum + Coke.
Rum + Coke is new kind of a clothing line that is personally designed and sewed by Smith for women.
Smith launched her clothing line last year and she only features “plus-sized women” of color in her photo shoots. Don’t worry, her clohing line sizes range from two to twenty-four. The clothes features a variety of designes such as curve-hugging party dresses to luxe separates. It also includes velvet crop tops..

Smith said, “the fact that it is making news signifies that we need to make a change in the industry in terms of what we define as beautiful or marketable.”
Smith has made it a mission to “replace messages of self-loathing with messages of self-love and empowerment.”
Smith poses in her clothes and models her line to say to women, “hey, look at me! I can be beautiful, I can be fashionable. I can be the center of attention. And I shoud be the center of attention.”
