Jay Z & Cuomo

After hand delivering “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirts to several NBA players on Monday, Jay Z was met with criticism over social media for not wearing a shirt, himself. But Hov’s always been one to contribute to various causes “anonymously”, rather than being seen as someone who seeks acknowledgement for philanthropic ventures. And in another silent move by the mogul, Jay met with NY Governor Andrew Cuomo to discuss the criminal justice reform.

According to Cuomo Communications Director Melissa DeRosa, “Governor Cuomo and Shawn ‘JAY Z’ Carter had a productive conversation about doing a top to bottom review of the Criminal Justice system and how we can all work together to pass a reform package that ensures equality in the eyes of the law.”

In addition to this meeting, a story by Shaun King of the Daily Kos cites several philanthropic contributions that Hov makes on a regular basis. Along with financial contributions to the people on the frontlines in Ferguson, the Roc Nation CEO has paid to send hundreds of high school kids averaging a 2.7 gpa or below. The Brooklyn MC has, and continues, to pay the collgege, the college tuition of Sean Bell’s children.

Hopefully, this will finally silence all of the critics. Kudos to Jay and all he continues to do.
