The NBA free agent period has started and the Houston Rockets are lining up to pursue All-Star SF Carmello Anthony. He is one of the most prolific scorers in the league and would add even more firepower to an already potent offense that ranked 2nd in the NBA with 107.7 pts a game.

Carmelo-Anthony-Rockets-2

Can’t you see it now? Dwight Howard snags a rebound, sends an outlet pass to James Harden, who hits a wide open Carmello Anthony for Threeeeeeeeeeee!

But, I don’t want to get my hopes up to high only to be let down. So I’ve (unscientifically) given the Rockets a 20% chance of signing Carmello. Why 20%? Because you have to factor in that his wife Lala is a superstar in her own right. She’s starring in Think Like a Man Too and I don’t think if makes sense for her to move out of New York with her acting career in full bloom. Lala’s happiness will weigh heavily in this decision to uproot the family from the Big Apple.

And let’s not forget about the money his current team the Knicks could offer $130 million over five years. The most any other team could offer is $96 million over four years. $34M is a lot of dough to leave on the table especially since this will probably be his last big payday.

"Think Like a Man" Atlanta Premiere

My guess is that he gets wined and dined by the Rockets, Chicago Bulls, and Dallas Mavericks (who doesn’t like to be courted) and utlimatley re-signs with the Knicks.
