(HOUSTON)– Though many were not pleased with the new fingerprint technology as phone security, this authentication feature could make life easier.

The Touch ID was introduced to iPhone 5S owners to unlock their device. Now, Touch ID is on the table for third-party developers.

According to the Huffington Post, “…this means that soon, iPhone 5S owners will be able to login to apps — from banks, retailers, or anyone, really — using the phone’s fingerprint sensor. So when the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 8, is released this fall, you may be able to check your account balance with a quick scan of your finger.”

Apple predicts, consumers will really enjoy the simplicity of a swipe instead of typing the chain of capital letters, numbers, and punctuation marks for account log-ins.
