(HOUSTON) — You may be familiar with the scam that involves a loved one supposedly in trouble in a foreign country and in desperate need of money.
Leah Napoliello with the Houston Better Business Bureau says the scam has kept up with advancements in social media. But if you’re contacted, a phony message should still be fairly easy to spot.
Napoliello says the best way to know for sure is to try to contact them or someone else close to them through your own private records.
