Am I the only one who is tired of this black-man-in-jail- struggle? From our rappers, ball players, and entertainers in general its ridiculous! This sense of stress is not coming from a place of judgement but a plea rather for those people of influence to remember to make better decisions; not just for themselves but for the people who look to them and mimic them.
You black men are better than sagging pants, guilty pleads, gun possession, drug possesion and being imprisoned jeeze louis! And for those out there who say ‘ugh relax, sagging is a style not a lifestyle’ let me tell you something, it’s a means for people to look at you sub-par and with negative judgment. Ugh well.. I’m off my soap box now. Also realize I’m not discounting all the good that happens and charitable and giving things our men do as well, just venting about this recurring issue. Gucci Mane won’t get out of jail until late 2016 — according to a plea deal the rapper just struck in exchange for copping to a gun possession charge.
Gucci pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail, but under Gucci’s plea deal, he’s only expected to face 39 months … minus 10 months credit for time served.
