The Houston Texans selected South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney with the 1st overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. He will be teamed up with JJ Watt to form one of the most devastating 1-2 punches in the league.

Check out NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell as he announces the pick of Clowney.

With Day 2 of the draft kicking off at 7pm today the Texans still need to address the most important position on the field….QUARTERBACK. The top three QB’s going into the draft have been selected Blake Bortles (Pick #3 Jacksonville Jaguars), Johnny Manziel (Pick #22 Cleveland Browns), & Teddy Bridgewater (#32 Minnesota Vikings).

The next best available QB is Fresno’s Derek Carr. If that name sounds familiar it’s because he is the younger brother of the Texans 1st ever draft pick David Carr. Check out the kid on stage with the Texans hat. It’s 11 year old Derek after his brother got drafted in 2002.

There is also a rumor circulating that the Texans will trade for New England Patriots backup QB Ryan Mallett. Texan Head Coach Bill O’Brien was the offensive coordinator of Mallett during his rookie year in 2011.
