(HOUSTON) — A man from Rhome in the Dallas-Fort Worth area was arrested on child pornography charges, and he may have victims in the Houston area
Merle Wayne Scherb, 28, is well-known on the motocross circuit.
He’s accused of sending pornographic images of children through the internet to an individual in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Conroe Police Department, U.S. Marshals, Texas Rangers, Wise County Sheriff’s Department, Rhome Police Department and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office arrested Scherb at his home on March 20.
He is charged with three counts of promotion of child pornography.
Investigators said they have information that he may have been in contact with Montgomery County children, and he may have victims in the area.
