(HOUSTON) — A two-alarm fire at Heights Presbyterian Church was ruled accidental on Thursday.
Heights Presbyterian Church is more than 100 years old. The building is in the 300 block of West 18th near North Shepherd in The Heights.
The fire started just after noon Wednesday, but it was under control before long with help from the rain.

A firewall kept the flames from spreading from an attic area into the sanctuary. There were no injuries, but the church sustained severe damage.
Arson investigators were looking into the cause after church elder Terry Myers reported there was a suspicious person near the building shortly before the alarm sounded. Fire officials announced Thursday that the cause of the fire was electrical and it was an accident.
Myers said it will hurt their small congregation, but it may hurt the area homeless even more. The church provides the homeless a bagged lunch every day and a full meal once a month.http://news92fm.com/mobile-text-club/%20rel=nofollowhttp://ronenews92fm.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/heights-church-fire-vw2-spellman.mp3%5D%20%20target=_blankGet%20Breaking%20News%20&%20More%20On%20Your%20Phone%20%5Bione_facebook_like_box%20news92fm%20260
