Houston police at a murder scene on Gessner

(HOUSTON) – A pregnant maid was cleaning a southwest Houston gentleman’s club when police say she and her unborn child were killed over about a thousand dollars.

The Houston Police Department is now looking for the man who violently killed her. It happened just before 5pm Saturday at the Eclipse Gentlemen’s Club in the 6800 block of South Gessner at Bellaire.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

According to homicide investigators, the business was closed during the day and managers had a contracted maid come in to clean.  The woman’s husband told police he talked with her when she got to work, but then he couldn’t reach her a while later. He drove to the club to check on her and couldn’t get in, so the manager was called.

Police said the manager arrived and went inside with the maid’s husband. That’s when they found her lying on the floor. She had reportedly been violently beaten or strangled.

There was no sign of forced entry at the business, but police tell us it was a burglary and the maid likely surprised the suspect. He allegedly entered from the back to take the cash register, which police said had about $1,000 in it.

The victim was five months pregnant.

Oilice said they have a lead on the identity of the suspect, who was caught on surveillance video. The suspect faces two counts of capital murder when arrested.
