It’s the reason you might be excited to get up early, SCHOOL CLOSINGS, and then to go back to sleep.

Here is a short list of school closings.

Alief ISD: District staff will be monitoring the weather through the night, and any changes to the school day will be made by 5:30 a.m.

Anahuac ISD: School will start at 10 a.m. Friday; buses will run two hours later than normal

Anderson-Shiro CISD: Schools will open at 10 a.m. Friday; Buses running two hours late; All activities for Thursday evening have been canceled.

Barber Hills ISD: Classes will start at 10 a.m.

Brazos ISD: Classes will start at 10 a.m.; buses will run two hours later than usual

Clear Creek ISD: CCISD will delay the start time for all schools and special programs, including magnet programs, by two hours on Friday; Bus routes will run two hours later than usual; All early-morning activities canceled; The district will notify parents at 6 a.m. Friday if there is a need to make additional changes.

Conroe ISD: Currently the District has not canceled any after school activities scheduled for Thursday.

A decision to close schools Friday will likely be made by 5 a.m.

Deer Park ISD: No school Friday; athletic events before noon Friday are canceled

Dickinson ISD: Two-hour delayed start on Friday, January 24 due to the rain, sleet and icy conditions expected in the early morning hours.

Secondary campuses will start school at 9:30 a.m. and elementary schools at 10:30 a.m. Morning pre-kindergarten students will attend school from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Afternoon pre-kindergarten classes will not be affected with normal hours of 12:30-3:30 p.m. All schools will dismiss at normal times.

Dickinson ISD buses will run their regular routes two hours later than normal.

East Bernard ISD: Classes will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday

East Chambers ISD: School delayed until 11 a.m.; Buses will run approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes later than usual

Fort Bend ISD: Will increase weather monitoring and work with local emergency officials to make the best decisions related to the weather for our staff and students. If there needs to be changes to the regular school schedule, staff and parents will be notified between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Friday morning via School Messenger, the District website and in the media. Please continue to monitor email, the FBISD and campus websites and Twitter for updated information.

Galveston ISD: A decision will be made early Friday

Goose Creek ISD: All Baytown schools will be closed Friday

HISD: All HISD schools closed Friday along with the central office.

Hitchcock ISD: Due to a county ban on driving until after 10 a.m. Hitchcock ISD will not have classes Friday.

Katy ISD: All before-school practices and activities for Friday, including before-school YMCA care, have been cancelled.

Huntsville ISD: Closed Friday

Livingston ISD: Will delay school for two hours Friday morning; buses will run two hours later than normal

Navasota ISD: All campuses will begin at 10 a.m. due to weather concerns. Doors will open for student drop off beginning at 9:30 a.m. All High Point (Plantersville & Stoneham) bus routes will be delayed 2 ½ hours. All other bus routes will be delayed 2 hours. Breakfast service will not be available Friday morning. All staff is asked to report at 9:30 a.m.

Boys Soccer has been canceled for Thursday night. The Planning Advisory Committee Meeting is still scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the Navasota High School Library.

Onalaska ISD: School will start two hours late; buses will run two hours later than normal

Prairie View A&M: Classes will start at 10 a.m. Friday

Richards ISD: Classes delayed until 10 a.m. Friday

Spring Branch ISD: Based on current information, all afternoon and evening school related activities today, Thursday, January 23, will continue as scheduled. At this time, a regular school schedule is planned for Friday, January 24.

If inclement weather does require a change in operations or should our schools need to close on Friday morning, SBISD will issue an early-morning telephone message to staff and families of students, post notices on the SBISD website and inform local television stations.

Spring ISD: The decision should be made by 6 a.m. as to what, if any, changes in our schedule will be made.

Stafford MSD: If a delayed start is required for Friday, parents and staff will be notified no later than 6 a.m. Friday morning by the district call out system. Information will also be posted on the SMSD website, Twitter, and provided to local news media.

Tarkington ISD: Classes delayed until 10 a.m. Friday

Texas A&M: Closed from 8 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday

Texas A&M Galveston: Classes and activities before noon are canceled

Texas City ISD: Will start two-hours late Friday: In the event that weather conditions worsen and school should need to be canceled for the entire day, parents will be notified with telephone calls, Facebook, Twitter, e-News, TCISD website, local television stations and newspapers. This notification will be made by 7 a.m.

Tidehaven ISD: Classes delayed until 9 a.m. Friday

Wharton ISD: Classes will start at 10:30 a.m. Friday; All Thursday evening activities are canceled

Willis ISD: Closed Friday
