Mr. Saunders went searching for a donkey after it escaped from his friends property.
Saunders later found it down the road tied up to Acorn Hill Drive according to Montgomery County Police Reporters. Saunders decided to take the donkey and tie it behind his Chevrolet Blazer.
The donkey fought against the pull as the speed increased, but there was nothing he could do. The donkey eventually fell over the edge of the road. The animal was dragged until his hooves were grounded to the bone.
Behind Saunders was a trail of blood that stretched ten feet.
After the damage was done, Saunders unhooked the donkey and fled the scene. A local veterinarian found the animal and took it home for recovery.
Dwayne Morrow with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office was the deputy able to find Saunders after the incident and bring him to justice.
