Classes have resumed for thousands of students who headed back to school after the Christmas break…. which also means, a reminder to drivers.
“School is back in session. Make sure you slow down in the school zones…abide by the school zones and also don’t use your cell phone or test while in a school zone.”
Houston Police Captain Larry Baimbridge says it’s easy to stay in holiday mode…but that’s why they’re here.
“With school being out for the past 2-3 weeks, we tend to be a bit more complacent. Traffic is a lot lighter so people tend to adjust their schedules accordingly and tend to leave a bit later.”
So, whether you’re heading out in the morning or out by afternoon….
“Just be mindful that school is back in session and keep your eye out for kids heading out to school or getting off the bus as well.”
