TLC’s Chili and T-Boz are speaking out after the family of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes balked at her absence from the 20th anniversary remake of their classic hit, “Waterfalls.” They said while they will never replace Left Eye, they were forced to re-record her vocals because they don’t own the rights!

According to TMZ, the remake was re-recorded with vocals from Japanese pop star Namie Amuro after the remaining members of TLC were denied requests to use Lisa’s rap verse in the song.

“We have and always will protect our sister’s legacy as TLC consists of the three of us collectively … there will never be a replacement for Lisa or any members in TLC.”
