A high school teacher from Spring Branch is accused of having sex with a student and hosting pot parties and has been fired.

Kathana Culp was arrested earlier this month after confessing to the Northbrook High School principal that a former student was blackmailing her.

The former student told Spring Branch ISD police that he and Culp had a sexual relationship and lived with her for part of his senior year, from March 2012 until November 2012. He also had inappropriate cellphone pictures of her.

He said Culp invited other students to her home and gave them pot and alcohol.

Culp also has a law degree and worked as a child advocate with the ACLU, according to SBISD.
