A noted lounge in Houston that succumbed to fire that was the work of an arsonist, according to authorities.

Firefighters arrived at Club Azul located on Buffalo Speedway near the South Loop just before 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews saw smoke billowing from the top of the building and were able to extinguish the fire in about ten minutes. There were no injuries reported.

According to investigators, most of the damage was contained to the back of the lounge. Approximately  half of the lounge was destroyed by the blaze.

Extra crews were called due to the size of the blaze. Firefighters wanted to ensure that there was not an extension into the roof areas.

Soon after the fire was extinguished, the Houston Arson Division arrived and crews were quickly to determine that the fire was the work of an arsonist, due to the fire being set at a specific corner of the building.

Additional reports indicate that authorizes will collect surveillance video from other shops that share the same strip mall of the lounge to determine who is responsible for the fire.
