A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the extreme northwestern parts of Harris County and also in Montgomery County. The National Weather Service say the warning is in effect until 4:15 p.m.
The storm is capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH, according to radar. At 3:24, the radar indicated that the storms were moving north and were located near The Woodlands. The were reportedly moving at 15 MPH.
The rain is expected to die out as things cool down this evening. Until then, conditions are warm and muggy with highs in the low 90s.
