Spring is the beginning of allergy season for many people The flowers are in bloom. The trees have blossoms, but you can’t enjoy any of that because of your allergies. Every spring, allergies flare up. Whether it’s the pollen, the bees, the fresh flower buds, or the dust, outside allergies prove a real health risk to millions of Americans. It is best to think about these thing by taking precautions before opening the door.

Here are 8 steps to fight your allergies

-Get tested for allergies by your doctor, or use the process of elimination to pinpoint your triggers. The most common allergens are pollen, mold, dust mites, animals, medications and certain foods. Identify the allergen(s) as specifically as possible.

-Lessen your exposure– Keep your windows closed and stay inside as much as you can if seasonal pollen is a problem. Consider a ventilation or filtration system for your home.

-Seal your bedding – Seal your  mattress, pillows and comforters in allergen-proof covers. Dust mites, a common allergen, live in bedding.

-Sleep on a latex mattress Dust mites can’t survive in latex mattresses.

-Take a look at Ventilation Use an exhaust fan in the bathroom or keep the window open.

-Replace your vacuum– Buy a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and use it often.

-Remove carpet– Avoid wall-to-wall carpeting. It is virtually impossible to remove dust mites from carpeting.

- Check your diet– Eliminate certain foods  -if you suspect they are causing allergy symptoms.
