Tappahannock, Virginia native, Chris Brown, could have an eventful weekend. The controversial star will possibly be seen and heard about during primetime television twice this weekend. This is due to his appearance as a musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” and his Grammy Nominations for 2011.
Brown will appear on “Saturday Night Live” as the music act, while comedian and actor Russell Brand hosts. Brown will likely be performing songs from his upcoming new release called “F.A.M.E.” and may even be seen in a skit or two on the comedy show.
Not only that, but the singer has three Grammy nominations for the 2011 awards show Sunday. He trails rap star Eminem by 7 awards, as the Detroit rapper is one of the favorite Grammy predictions to take home many awards Sunday night.
However, one or more award wins would be considered a major career comeback victory for Chris Brown. According to a recent report, his name might be called, but it appears Brown won’t be appearing there due to previous commitments.
The irony of the latter is that Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Rihanna is scheduled to attend the Grammys as a performer. She’s also apparently dropped the restraining order against Brown to a level one. This would allow contact as long as Chris doesn’t molest or harass Rihanna.
It would be an interesting moment to see these two reunited two years after Brown’s domestic assault incident. What will be interesting to see as far as television goes, will be Chris Brown’s involvement in “Saturday Night Live” and any reactions from Rihanna should Brown win any Grammy awards. Will the sometimes controversial show “go there” with any sort of jabs at Brown’s issues, or will he simply sing and dance on stage? Also, if Chris Brown wins one or more Grammy awards, will CBS quickly get a camera shot of Rihanna’s reactions, if possible?
