R&B crooners Trey Songz, Tank and LeToya Luckett will be starring in the film “The Preacher’s Kid” which opens on January 29th.  Luckett stars  as “Angie King,” a 20-something daughter of a minister who, “longing to experience more of life – and with dreams of fame and fortune in her mind – she strikes out on her own for the very first time, joining a traveling gospel show. She soon discovers, though, that life on the road is tough; but even more, she fears going home with nothing to show for herself, or worse, to a father who might no longer love her.

“Hip-Hop Wired spoke exclusively with Trey Songz about his role in the project who stated,

“I got a small role in a movie entitled “The Preacher’s Kid.” It’s Wendy Williams’ movie, I did a small role in that.  LeToya Luckett’s in it, Tank is starring in it as well.  LeToya Luckett’s actually “The Preacher’s Kid” and she runs astray and I’m a man out of her past that comes through briefly and we chat it up.  She’s dealing with another man at the time and I’m married. We just see each other briefly and we chop it up real quick.  In the Wendy Williams’ movie, I play a pivotal role as the first DJ to ever put her on air.”

“The Preacher’s Kid” was written and directed  by Stan Foster whose credits include helming Bishop T.D. Jakes’ “Woman, Thou Art Loosed” major motion picture.  The film also stars Clifton Powell.
