HOUSTON—The Houston Police Department confirmed Friday they are investigating two muggings in the area around Bellaire High School.
In the first incident, two students were together when one of them was mugged for a cell phone, according to school officials. In the second incident, which occurred on October 27, a bike was stolen from a 15-year-old.
Officials have increased HISD police patrol in the area and are working with local neighborhood associations.
Students are warned to always be aware of their surroundings and walk home in groups.
