David Cummings, of Epsom, New Hampshire has come up with a unique way to pay tribute to Veterans and he wants to provide financial support to those that have sacrificed for our nation. Cummings goal is to make a million free throws.

He began his quest Veterans Day 2009 and has calculated how long it will take to reach his mark, “If I were to make 1,370 a day, it’s exactly two years,” Cummings said. “I’d love to end on Veterans Day 2011.”

Cummings’ most successful day so far is sinking 7,000 shots in 10 hours.

As a Veteran of the Gulf War I must say that I applaud his efforts and I hope he achieves this incredible accomplishment.
