Two 21-year-olds — a woman and a man — were arrested late Friday night and confessed to killing two cab drivers earlier this week, Houston police said.

Capital murder charges are expected to be filed against Danielle Hudson, of the 6200 block of Antoine, and Chaz Blackshear, of the 1200 block of Bentworth, HPD spokesman John Cannon said Saturday.

Both, police said, have admitted to robbing and shooting Mohammed Nabiil Elsayed, 32, of Houston, and Blaise Uzoma Nwokenaka, 50, of Bellaire. Both men, independent contractors for Yellow Cab, were shot multiple times, police said.

Police have not released who the suspected shooter was in each of the killings, but will discuss details of the case in a press conference Monday.

Hudson’s criminal background in Harris County includes convictions for theft in 2010, 2007 and 2006, for which she received a total of 110 days in the county jail, according to court records. Those cases involved stealing personal items such as perfume, earrings and clothing from women.

She also was convicted in 2008 for escape while under arrest, for which she received a sentence of one year in jail, and in 2006, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, for which she received 90 days.

In the 2008 incident, Hudson escaped from a Harris County sheriff’s deputy while being arrested for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, according to court records.

Blackshear’s criminal history in Harris County is a conviction for marijuana possession in August this year, for which he received 10 days in jail, according to court records.

A Houston patrolman discovered Nwokenaka’s body early Thursday morning in the 12100 block of Overbook. The officer noticed smoke coming from a cab around 4:14 a.m. and found Nwokenaka dead.

Elsayed’s body was found in a drainage ditch in the 5400 block of Wheatley on Tuesday afternoon; his cab was found shortly thereafter in the 12100 block of Overbrook.

Homicide investigators believe Elsayed was killed around 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. that day.
