The YMCA is re-branding but the Village People are not. The YMCA has changed its name simply to “The Y,” in what appears to be the end of an era for the Village People’s classic hit, “YMCA.” But the disco-era band is not taking the name change without comment. In a statement the group said “while we admire the organization for the work they do, we still can’t help but wonder — Y.”
