(above) Fans hold 20,000 signs that where handed out to the crowd at Cleveland’s Independence Day celebration as part of the cities effort to persuade LeBron James to stay “Home” and play for the Cleveland Cavaliers next season.

In an effort to keep their hometown superstar, the Cleveland Cavaliers recently recorded a 10 minute video which they showed to LeBron James this past weekend in their only meeting with the star player.

The video, titled “More Than A Player,” includes highlights from LeBron’s youth in Akron to his seven years as a Cav.

Rumors surfaced over the weekend that the short film touched a chord with James and his representatives; as many fans, young and old, were featured making their pleas for James to stay in his hometown. It featured residents of cities like Columbus and Cincinnati, which are a few hours away from his hometown to show James he is loved state-wide.

James, who is six days into the biggest free agency period in sports history, is scheduled to make his announcement tomorrow at 9 P.M. on ESPN. The New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are said to be the teams he’s considering.
