Rob G

Rob G. has been DJ’ing professionally since the tender age of 15.  He fulfilled his lifelong dream of working in a top 10 market when he was hired by 97.9 The Box in October 2002.  Originally hired to work overnights and weekends, it didn’t take long for him to puck up more visible time slots. All of his hard work paid off when he was asked to be the exclusive mixer for the award winning “Madd Hatta Morning Show” in 2005.
Since becoming a part of the MHMS Rob G. has created two specialty “interactive” mixes.  The first being “Link The Mix” where prizes are given away to the first listener who can guess the common thread among all the songs in the mix.  The second and most popular of his mixes is the Friday edition of “Star Wars”.  In this mix Rob G. pits the music of two artist, groups, cities, years or albums against one another ie… Jay-Z vs. Lil Wayne, Houston vs. New Orleans etc…  In addition to the MHMS you can also check out Rob G. on Sunday mornings from 7a-12p.

JJ

This Cincinnati native (and her parents) learned early that her place was behind the microphone.  In 1998, Jillian’s professional radio career began at WROU-FM in Dayton, Ohio where she held down a weekend host position.
She switched dials to WIZF-FM in her hometown of Cincinnati in 2000.  Life changed for her when she packed her headphones and moved to The Big Apple – New York City in February, 2001 – seven months before September 11th. She landed a spot at  legendary WBLS-FM where she worked alongside “The Queen of all Media”, Wendy Williams.
In 2002, JJ relocated to Indianapolis to take a job as the midday host on  Hot 96.3-FM where she’s served as Assistant Program Director in addition to her duties as a host on Indy Music Channel’s “Freestyle”.
Over the years, she’s interviewed many of your favorites entertainers as well as the 44th President of the United States, Barak Obama.  In 2010, JJ was invited to Washington, DC by the Congressional Black Caucus to speak on Hip-Hop’s impact on the American political landscape. This proud mommy continues to champion community causes such as prenatal care in underprivileged communities, AIDS awareness and voter education.
After 9 years in Indy, JJ heads to the Dirty South to become the newest addition to Houston’s #1 Hip Hop Station. You can listen to her Monday thru Friday 10am-3pm on 97.9 The Box.

GT

G.T.  known by most as one of Houston’s hottest DJ, both on and off the air and is increasing becoming known for his innovative unheard of lyrics on the mic. With G.T. abbreviated for gifted and talented, his story is like none other and is considered one of a kind.

As a true lover of hip hop music, G.T. was drawn to the mic at an early age, “I was always a rapper…I DJ to support my rap career,” says GT, clearing all preconceived notions.

During his college years at Texas Southern University, he linked up with future friend and business partner DJ Steve Nice. With limited funds to support his music career, GT decided to take a shot at radio to pay for his first album expenses, which featured the hit song “Our House.”

In 1999, GT founded Key Players Entertainment to pursue his career as an artist while holding it down at 97.9 The Box creating a name for himself in radio as the ‘only DJ that gives a jam.’

Continuously holding his own as a recognized DJ in the south and nominated consecutively for the Mix Show Power Summit’s “Dirty South DJ of the Year” Award, GT released his first single ‘You Don’t Want To,’ from his solo album “HTX.” The song swept urban night clubs away by storm and became Texans first hip hop anthem.

G.T. is set to release his new highly anticipated album this fall. He plans on making more waves than radio imagined with the love and support from the public and the industry alone. G.T. a.k.a the renaissance man of hip hop is consistently lyrically versatile and talented both on the mic and the serato.

G.T. is a proud member of the 2009 Black Entertainment Television Awards.

The second part is the Grey Tape Mix from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. This part mainly consists of old school H-Town underground hits. The last part is called Straight To The Room. This part consists of the hottest love R&B songs. This part is from 11:00 to 1:00 a.m. There is much more to my career than this, but I have to keep it brief as possible for this website.
