Hip-Hop made its presence felt for the second day in a row during NBA All-Star weekend. To kick off the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, TNT Analyst Kenny Smith played the role of MC, and pointed out a few celebrities in attendance. Kenny noticed Diddy sitting courtside and began discussing some of the moves he’s been making, namely his son attending UCLA and the launch of his new cable network Revolt. Mr. Combs also mentioned that his favorite sports movie was White Men Can’t Jump, which we learned was the set up for Houston Rockets star Chase Budinger‘s first dunk.
While this was an impressive way to start the contest, the excitement didn’t last long, as this may have been the worst NBA Dunk Contest in league history. Continue on for Chase’s dunk and a few highlights from this year’s competition, which was won by Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz.
