The 2020 edition of the Rodeo was shut down due to COVID-19 concerns, setting off a streak of cancelations that lasted throughout the year.

After the 2020 edition was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the earliest signs of how unpredictable 2020 would be, the rodeo has moved to a new date of May 4-23, 2021 at NRG Park.
