Our country cousin Big K.R.I.T. is back and almost 10 years to when fans first got See Me On Top and the landmark K.R.I.T. Wuz Here project, he’s armed with another one. K.R.I.T. Iz Here arrives next month and “K.R.I.T. Here”, the bouncy and horn ready lead single contains every bit of southern gospel as it does Mississippi charm and grit.

The video itself is a testament to that level of evolution. There’s a modern-day slave auction with record executives examining the “qualities” of certain emcees the same way plantation owners did the physical features of enslaved Africans. K.R.I.T., leaning once more to that underrated aspect that has rode shotgun with him throughout his career goes for far less than his contemporaries. It’s a play on and subtle shot to him entering the major label system back in 2010 when he signed with Def Jam.

Nine years later? Krizzle is free to do as he pleases and the joy towards the end with fireworks and a congregation playing up “K.R.I.T. Iz Here” is a testament. Watch the video below.
