DJ Khaled is in complete overdrive with Father of Asahd.

Fans had no clue how the longtime hitmaker would roll out his eleventh album after he had been teasing it for the better part of a year and some change. Then, without much warning, Khaled gave a date of May 17. Still shots and photos of Khaled with John Legend and Nipsey Hussle surfaced as an unnamed track from the album. Hussle’s untimely passing on March 31 made the photos eerie, almost as if Hussle was in a regal state and was merely standing in his place as an angel. The photos from this particular video were the ones used for Nipsey’s program last month.

Sure enough, Father of Asahd arrived on Friday with typical blockbuster Khaled fashion. Collaborations that made sense in terms of kinetic style bloomed (Travis Scott & Post Malone) while others felt like healthy reminders of what a Khaled banger sounds like (“Jealous” feat. Big Sean, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown).

The first video fans got at midnight was “Higher,” the Nipsey Hussle / John Legend collaboration that some fans immediately took in while others waited off on. Speaking of Nipsey in the past tense still feels weird, almost as if it shouldn’t even be that way. Khaled wasn’t done though and dropped the video for “Just Us” featuring SZA and “Celebrate” with Scott and Posty. We’ll be updating this post with whatever new videos Khaled drops.
