Last night we witnessed live on TV Houston Astros’ shortstop Carlos Correa drop to one knee and propose to his girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez, 22, the former 2016 Miss Texas who was born in Laredo, Texas.
“He kept calling me to be next to him during an interview, which I really didn’t understand why cause it’s just a regular interview, so he’s like, ‘Just don’t leave, just don’t leave. Stay right there.’ So I was like, ‘OK,’ “ she said.

She continued saying, “I could barely hear what he was saying, and then I hear him say, ‘I’m going to take another big step’ or something like that, and then he says my name and looks at me and I’m like, ‘Does he want me to talk in the interview?’ Then he gets down on one knee and everything else is a blur.”
“I knew we had championship potential, so I decided to hold out until the last game of the season,” Correa said.
Of course Correa consulted with his teammates such as Carlos Beltran and he showed a picture of the ring to others.
“I saw a picture of the ring two days ago,” said third baseman Alex Bregman. “We were supposed to do it [after] Game 6, but then we didn’t play our game. Came back today, won the World Series, the guy proposed to his girlfriend. It was unbelievable.”
The couple have been together since last fall and after she threw the first pitch last September, Correa went public with their relationship.
The new bride-to-be has a wedding to plan, but she already knows where she wants her honeymoon at, “Bora Bora.”
